Metzker leads Men's Golf to 5th place finish at OAC Fall Invitational

MEDINA -- Joel Metzker fired a 77-78--155 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a fifth place finish out of 11 teams at the Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational Sunday and Monday at the Fox Meadow Country Club.

Metzker finished 12 out of 64 golfers with an 11-over par score on the Par-72, 6917-yard course.

Oaul Morbitzer finished tied for 17th with a 78-80--158, Tom Repicky was 24th with an 82-78--160, Phil Makowski was tied for 36th with an 81-84--165 and Jordan McKenzie was tied for 40th with an 81-85--166.

The Polar Bears (8-12 overall) finished with a 317-320--637 to finish fifth.

Otterbein won the team title with a 303-315--618, Moun t Union was second with a 313-313--626 and John Carroll was third with a 315-315--630.

Mount Union's Scott Miller took Medalist honors with a 3-over par 72-75--147.

The Polar Bears will return to action next Sunday and Monday at the Mount Union Invitational.
