Men's Golf team wraps up 2009 Fall season with 4th place finish at Wittenberg Invitational

SPRINGFIELD — The Ohio Northern men's golf team wrapped up its 2009 fall schedule with a solid fourth place finish at the 36-hole Wittenberg Invitational on Tuesday at Windy Knoll Golf Course.
The Polar Bears (17-23) finished with a 319-319—638 to finish fourth out of 11 varsity teams.
Junior Tom Repicky led the Polar Bears with a season-low 78-79—157 on the Par-71, 6,834-yard course to finish tied for 18th out of 82 golfers.
Freshman Travis Ballinger and senior Joel Metzker each tied for 27th with scores of 80-80—160 and 81-79—160, respectively.
Senior Paul Morbitzer was 45th with an 80-85—165 and sophomore Jordan McKenzie was 52nd with an 87-81—168.
All 36 holes were played on Tuesday.
No. 12-ranked Wittenberg won the team title with a 302-296—598, No. 9 Transylvania (Ky.) was second with a 305-300—605 and Otterbein was third with a 309-310—619.
Ohio Dominican's Greg Eiber won Medalist honors in a playoff over Hunter Frazier of Transylvania, as each player finished with a 147.
Ohio Northern will continue with its spring schedule in March.
