Men's Cross Country and Track & Field teams get nine members named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference

ADA - Nine members of the men's cross country and track & field teams have been named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference, including four seniors, four juniors and a sophomore.
Seniors Paul Lewis, Thomas Adam, Steve Darmon and Eric Porter were all named First Team Academic All-OAC, while juniors Jacob Weyrauch, Joe Amstutz, Alan Bowsher and Ben McPheron were selected to the same honor.
Sophomore Travis Isenberg was named Honorable Mention Academic All-OAC.
Lewis, Adam and Porter were all named All-OAC and All-Great Lakes Region in cross country to lead ONU to first place in the OAC and second place in the region.
Adam was also an All-OAC performer twice in track by winning the indoor 5,000-meter run and placing second in the outdoor 10,000-meter run.
Porter also earned another All-OAC award by finishing in third place in the indoor 1,000-meter run, while Lewis scored 23 points during indoor track and 17 points during outdoor track.
Darmon contributed 7.25 points in indoor track and two points in outdoor track.
Weyrauch was an all-conference performer when he finished in second place in the pole vault at the OAC Indoor Championship.
Amstutz was a five-time All-OAC performer over the two seasons, earning two all-conference awards for indoor and three for outdoor.
He was the OAC Champion in the indoor 500-meter run and earned second-place finishes in the indoor 4x400-meter relay, outdoor 400-meter dash, outdoor 4x400-meter relay and outdoor 4x800-meter relay.
Bowsher has been one of the more decorated Polar Bears on the season, being named OAC Distance Runner of the Year at both the indoor and outdoor conference championship meets.
Bowsher was a three-time conference champion this year, winning the indoor 3,000-meter run as well as the outdoor 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter runs. He added a second-place finish in the indoor 5,000-meter run.
In cross country, he was All-OAC (5th) and All-Great Lakes Region (24th).
McPheron scored five points for ONU during indoor track and six points during outdoor track. He also has turned in ONU's third fastest time in the steeplechase at 10:07.16.
Isenberg scored 10.25 points during indoor track and turned in the fifth fastest time in the 1,000-meter run at 2:37.09. He also scored three points during outdoor track.
