Men’s Soccer shuts out Ohio Wesleyan on the road 1-0

DELAWARE—The Ohio Northern men’s soccer team shutout Ohio Wesleyan 1-0 Wednesday night as freshman Christian Huelsman scored the lone goal of the match at 53:06 in the game.

The Polar Bears improve to 8-2 for the season while the Battling Bishops fall to 6-3.

Assisted by senior Colin Schroeder, Huelsman shot from the right of the field for his team-leading seventh goal of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Aaron Collins had nine saves for the game while Wesleyan’s goalkeeper, Richard Ott, had three.

Sophomore Brendan Crowley made a save when he blocked a shot on goal early in the second half in front of the goal line.

ONU was outshot by Wesleyan 17-20 but managed to secure the win.

Ohio Northern will host Defiance on Tuesday at the ONU Soccer Field at 4:00.
