Luke Miller earns All-America honors with fourth place finish at NCAA III Wrestling Championships

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Ohio Northern sophomore Luke Miller earned All-America honors with a fourth place finish in the 157-pound weight class at the 2009 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships Friday-Saturday at the US Cellular Center.

Miller (32-9) finished with a 3-2 record in first appearance at the NCAAs.

He fell to top-seeded Aaron Wernimont of Wartburg (Iowa) in the semifinals Saturday morning, then rebounded with a 6-0 decision in a rematch with fifth-seeded Jesse Milkes of Wisconsin-Platteville the consolation semifinals Saturday afternoon.

Miller then fell in the fourth place match Saturday afternoon by a 5-1 decision to third-seeded Jason Adams of Augsburg (Minn.).

On Friday, he advanced to the semifinals of the 157-pound weight class with a 2-0 victory over fifth-seeded Jesse Milkes of Wisconsin-Platteville Friday morning in the first round and a 4-3 decision over Dan Dicolo of the College of New Jersey in the quarterfinals Friday night.

The top eight in each weight class earn All-America honors.
