Kyle Kwiat named OAC Wrestler of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Kyle Kwiat was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Jan. 11-17.

Kwiat, who is ranked No. 4 nationally at 174 pounds, went 7-0 on the week with four pins and a major decision.

He posted victories over OAC foes Wilmington and John Carroll, as well as No. 28-ranked Springfield (Mass.) and No. 29-ranked Olivet (Mich.) at the Lycoming (Pa.) Duals.

Kwiat is 24-3 on the season with a team-high 12 pins, two tech falls and five major decisions.

The Polar Bears (9-9 Overall, 2-0 OAC) will host Muskingum on Tuesday at 7:30 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
