Kowalczyk, Carter lead Men's Tennis team in OAC opener at John Carroll

SOUTH EUCLID – The Ohio Northern men’s tennis team fell in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener at John Carroll 7-2 Monday night at the Oakwood Country Club.

Ohio Northern moves to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the OAC while John Carroll betters its record to 4-5 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

Freshman Nick Kowalczyk picked up a win at number two doubles by defeating Chad Ruehs 6-2, 6-1.

Sophomore Jeff Carter picked up the Polar Bears’ other win of the match against Michael Finissi 6-2, 6-3 in number four singles play.

Ohio Northern continues action Thursday at 3:30 pm as it hosts Defiance.
