Jansen wins two events to lead Women's Track and Field to victory at Friday Night Series #1

ADA - Junior Janelle Jansen finished strong at the Ohio Northern women’s first indoor track meet of the season on Friday at the ONU Sports Center, earning two first place finishes in both the triple jump and the pole vault.
The Polar Bears took first place at the meet with a total of 332.5 points.
Findlay came in second with 143 points and Heidelberg finished off the top three spot bringing home 69 points.
The Ohio Northern women’s track team is now 4-0 for the season earning their first win at home.
Freshman Nicole Hope tied Jensen for first place in the pole vault with a height of
10- 4.00 while senior Emily Middleton took third in the event with a height of 8-4.25.00.
Hope also had an individual second place finish in the high jump with a height of
5-01.25.
Junior Karen Thatcher trailed behind Jensen in the triple jump with a length of 30-11.25 for a third place finish.
The Ohio Northern women dominated the 800-meter run with the top three finishes on the night.
Senior Rachelle Pavelko led the pack, with a time of 2:33.82, freshman Julia Urbanski followed close behind finishing second in 2:35.45, and Freshman Katie Angelis finished out the top three spot at of 2:38.38
In the 3,000 meters senior Regina Bresson, freshman Kelly Casanova, and Mallory Bloom controlled the race finishing one, two and three.
Bresson lead the pack with a 11:02.80 time followed by Casanova at 11:12.50 and Mallory at 11:16.80.
Junior Rachel Smith and sophomore Amanda Binkey swept the 1,000-meter run, finishing 1-2 with times of 3:06.10 and 3:14.20.
Finishing strong, runners senior Joy Kessler, sophomore Lauren Rupp, junior Brittany Farber and senior Danielle Noe lead their team to 4x400-meter relay victory with a time of 4:15.00
Junior Courtney Zupancic made an appearance in the weight throw, finishing second with a 43-05.75 performance. Freshman Kelli Sexton also made her mark with a 38-10.50 throw for the night.
The 4x200-meter relay team made an impressive finish taking second place with a time of 1:54.39. Senior Abby Schulte lead the team followed by teammates junior Kirsten Yoho, Thatcher and anchor runner Senior Amy Swigert.
The Polar Bears took second and third place finishes in both the 500-meter run and 60- meter dash.
Noe and Farber finished with times of 1:20.00 and 1:20.30 in the 500 while junior Kirsten Yoho and sophomore Aubrie Stechsuchultz finished at 7.90 and 7.99 in the 60 meter dash.
Sophmore Amy Davis also received a second place finish representing Ohio Northern in the mile race with a time of 5:33.60.
Farber earned second place in the 200-meter dash finish with a time of 27.50.
Individual third place finishes were also earned at the meet in the long jump, shot put and 300 meter dash.
Stechschulte performed with a 15-11.00 jump while Zupancic finished with a 35-10.75 performance in the shot put. Kessler added points with a 43.10 finish in the 300 meter dash.
Ohio Northern runs again next Friday at 6 pm at Findlay.
