Gedert's career-best effort leads Women's Golf to 6th-place finish at The Pat Clouse Invitational

SPRINGFIELD - Sophomore Emily Gedert shot a 36-hole career-low and the third lowest score in Ohio Northern history with a 75-81--156 to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a sixth-place finish at The Pat Clouse Invitational hosted by Wittenberg at Windy Knoll Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.

ONU is now 34-13 on the year with a total of 337-347--684. The 36-hole team total is the fifth best score in school history.

NCAA Division II competitor Findlay won the tournament at 330-314--644, while Walsh and DePauw (Ind.) were second and third, respectively.

Gedert's 75 in Round 1 tied her career best effort that she shot last fall at the same tournament.

The score is tied for the third lowest 18-hole score in ONU history and gave her the Round 1 overall lead. She finished in second place, being edged by one stroke by Nikki Kulasa from Walsh (77-78--155).

Senior Megan Russell had ONU's only other Top 20 finish, tying for 20th with an 85-84--169.

Rounding out the scoring for Ohio Northern was junior Ashley Johnson (t31) with an 85-90--175 and senior Kaylea Thresher (t57) with a 92-97--189.

The Polar Bears have now completed their fall schedule and will continue play in the spring. The schedule will be posted as soon as it become finalized.
