Garrett Dauch named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Garrett Dauch (Norwalk/Saint Paul) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week for the week of Oct. 26-Nov. 1.

Last week, Dauch led the Ohio Northern men’s swimming and diving team to a 186.5-113.5 win over John Carroll to open the 2009-10 season Saturday afternoon.

He added two individual victories for the Polar Bears, winning the 200 free in 1:51.78 and the 200 back in 2:05.75.

Dauch was also part of the 200 medley relay team with Ryan Bender, Andrew Keriazes and Anders Samuelson that won in 1:40.58.

This marks the first time in his career that Dauch has won this award.

The Polar Bears will be back in action this weekend, as they travel to Wilmington to take on the Quakers on Friday at 6 pm.
