Gales leads Women's tennis at ITA Regional Tournament

GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Freshman Christie Gales posted four victories to lead the Ohio Northern women's tennis team at the ITA Regional Tournament at DePauw (Ind.) Fri.-Sun.
Gales went 2-2 in singles play and teamed with freshman Kaitlyn Super to post a 2-2 record at doubles to pace the Polar Bears.
The tournament format is single-elimination, with a colsolation tournament for those eliminated in the first round.
Gales took advantage of the consolation tournament in both singles and doubles play, winning twice in the first two consolation rounds before being eliminated.
Juniors Liz Bajusz and Kristin Timperman and freshman Ashley Bonamer all went 1-1 in singles play, winning their opening matches before falling in the second round.
Bajusz and Bonamer also combined for a 1-1 record in the doubles tournament.
The Polar Bears have wrapped up the fall portion of their schedules and will return to action in the spring.
