Five Women's Tennis players and head coach earn All-OAC honors

ADA - Senior Kaitlyn Macdonald was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year to headline five Polar Bear players who earned All-OAC recognition for the 2009 season.
Macdonald went 7-2 in the OAC at No. 1 singles and has a 13-14 overall record on the season. She has also posted a 20-8 overall doubles record, while going an impressive 9-0 in OAC doubles action.
This is the fourth time Macdonald has been All-OAC, and she is currently the all-time wins leader in ONU history.
Joining Macdonald as First Team All-OAC were senior Bridget Larson and sophomore Jacqueline Sammon.
Larson went a perfect 18-0 in OAC play, going 9-0 at No. 2 singles and 9-0 with Macdonald at No. 2 doubles. She is second at ONU in all-time victories.
Sammon also went undefeated in OAC action with a perfect 9-0 record at No. 3 singles and a perfect 9-0 record with sophomore Liz Bajusz at No. 1 doubles.
Bajusz also earned OAC accolades, being named Second Team All-OAC. Along with being undefeated in doubles with Sammon, Bajusz turned in a 7-1 record at No. 4 singles in the conference.
Rounding out the recognition for the Polar Bears was junior Katie Gibbs who earned Honorable Mention All-OAC honors.
Gibbs was undefeated at No. 3 doubles in the conference at 9-0 and finished 7-2 in the conference at No. 5 singles.
Guided by head coach Scott Wills, the Ohio Northern coaching staff was named OAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
Wills helped Northern win the OAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, as well as earn the school's first ever bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Polar Bears are currently 20-5 on the year.
Ohio Northern will play later this afternoon in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament against SUNY-Geneseo at Denison at 2 pm.
