Devin Russell named Assistant Football Coach at Ohio Northern

ADA — Former Ohio Northern standout Devin Russell is returning to his alma mater as an Assistant Football Coach at Ohio Northern University.

He will coach the offensive line.

Russell returns to ONU after coaching stints at John Carroll and NCAA Division I-AA Morehead State.

He served as graduate assistant at Morehead State in 2008, coaching the offensive line.

Russell was also the assistant offensive line coach at John Carroll in 2006 and 2007.

The Worthington, Ohio, native earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Ohio Northern in the spring of 2006.

While at Ohio Northern, Russell was a three-year letterman and earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors as a junior in the fall of 2004.

He will be married to Diane Arnos (PharmD ’07) in June and resides in Ada.

The Polar Bears posted their 13th consecutive upper division finish in the OAC in 2008 with a 5-4 record and went 5-5 overall, rebounding from an 0-4 start to win five of their final six games.
