ADA - The Ohio Northern women’s swimming and diving team received their first loss of the season as they fell 165-135 to Wooster Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears move to 2-1 overall, while the Scots are now 3-0.

Bukowy edged out a victory in the 100 breast. Her time of 1:11.25 was .11 seconds better than the second-place finisher. She also added a second place finish in the 200 breast in 2:36.56.

Garbash also added a win in a very close race, coming in the 50 free. She finished in 26.22, eight hundredths of a second in front of the next swimmer.

Huber just missed a win in the 200 back, finishing in 2:21.78.

To finish second in the 200 free, Early posted a time of 2:02.53.

“This was a tough meet for us, to turn around within 12 hours and run with a long event list against Wooster,” said head coach Peggy Ewald. “It’s all about stepping up and racing even when you’re tired. For the ladies, they’re getting closer and closer to their potential and goals with each meet.”

The Polar Bears will look to rebound Friday, as they travel to Hillsdale (Mich.) to take on Hillsdale and Olivet (Mich.) at 6 pm.
