ADA — Senior Dani Noe (Woodville/Woodmore) and freshman Nicole Hope (Wilmington) have each been named to the 2009 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III Women’s All-Academic Track and Field Team.
Each of these athletes earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors multiple times this season to go along with individual OAC Champioinships.
Noe finished her career by competing in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the second consecutive year in the 400-meter hurdles.
She won the event at the OAC Outdoor Championships, while earning All-OAC twice more at the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash and a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
For her efforts at the meet, Noe was named OAC Runner of the Year for outdoor track & field.
Noe also earned OAC Runner of the Week twice during the outdoor season and was named Honorable Mention Academic All-OAC.
At the indoor track & field championships, Noe was All-OAC twice more by finishing second in the 4x400-meter relay and third in the 500-meter run.
Hope also had a very impressive season in just her first year as a Polar Bear.
In her first OAC Indoor Championships, Hope was able to finish in a tie for second place and earn All-OAC honors.
Then at the OAC Outdoor Championships, she earned her first OAC individual title by claiming the pole vault championship.
Hope also already owns the outdoor pole vault school record with an NCAA Provisional height of 11-10.
Both women contributed greatly to a historic season for the Ohio Northern running programs which claimed OAC titles in men's and women's cross country, indoor track & field, outdoor track & field and OAC Relays, giving the Polar Bears eight conference trophies on the year.
