Dan Otanicar's Hat Trick leads No. 11 Men's Soccer past Bridgewater, 7-0

ROANOKE, Va. -- Junior Dan Otanicar hat a hat trick to lead the No. 11-rankedOhio Northern men's soccer team to a 7-0 victory over Bridgewater (Va.) in the first match of the Roanoke Tournament Friday evening at Donald J. Kerr Stadium.

The Polar Bears improve to 2-0 on the season.

The hat trick was the first for Otanicar and the 27th in ONU history, but was the second one in just the last seven games. 

Nate Bascom had three goals in ONU's 4-1 NCAA Tournament victory at Wheaton (Ill.) last November.

The hat trick moves Otanicar into 10th place all-time in ONU career scoring history. In hi career, Otanicar has 25 goals and 20 assists for 70 career points.

Brendan Crowley also added a pair of goals, Christian Huelsman had a goal and two assists and Cory Dobkins had a goal for the Polar Bears.

Northern out-shot Bridgewater 44-3 and Mac Church had two saves in goal to record his second consecutive shutout for ONU.

Ohio Northern will face tournament host Roanoke (Va.) Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
