Cross Country teams to start 2009 schedule Sept. 5 at Akron Invitational

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's and women's cross country teams will kick off their 2009 seasons Sept. 5 at the Tommy Evans Invitational at the University of Akron.
Both Polar Bear squads will be out to defend their 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference titles on Oct. 31 at the OAC Championships meet at Wilmington.
The teams will only leave the state of Ohio twice, traveling to the Calvin (Mich.) Select Meet on Sept. 19 and the NCAA Division III Regionals at Rose-Hulman (Ind.) in Terre Haute, Ind.
The NCAA III Championships are slated for Nov. 21 at Baldwin-Wallace.
Other meets are slated for Sept. 12 at Bowling Green, Sept.26 at Otterbein,Oct. 2 at Ohio Wesleyan, and Oct. 17 at Oberlin.
Last season, the ONU men finished 11th at the NCAA III Championships, won the OAC Championships crown for the second consecutive season and finished with a 157-23 record.
The Polar Bear women won the OAC Championships crown and finished the 2008 season with a 106-40 record.
