Bukowy and Early lead Women's Swimming to victory over Notre Dame (Ohio)

SOUTH EUCLID — The women’s swimming and diving team defeated non-conference opponent Notre Dame College 150-112 in South Euclid Friday evening.
With the victory, the Polar Bears improve to 8-4, while the Falcons fall to 6-5.
Ohio Northern was led by sophomore Hannah Bukowy and freshman Kaitlyn Early, each posting two individual wins on the night.
Bukowy started her night by topping the 50 breast in 32.72.
She also touched first in the 100 breast, winning in 1:10.38.
Early posted her victories in the 1000 free and 500 free, finishing in 11:10.92 and 5:29.09, respectively.
Freshman Sarah Fiffick also had a solid night for the Polar Bears. She won the 100 free in 56.04.
Fiffick narrowly missed a win in the 200 free, finishing second in 2:01.65, just 33 hundredths of a second behind the leader.
Junior Katherine Moore added a first and second place finish, as well.
To win the 50 fly, Moore finished in 28.12. She also finished in a close second in the 100 fly, just seven hundredths of a second behind the winner with a time of 1:02.23.
Moore was also a part of both winning relay teams for the Polar Bears.
She combined with Fiffick and juniors Lacey Shumate and Jillian Huber to top the 400 medley relay in 4:14.14.
Sophomore Cassandra Fennell and freshman Alison Garbash teamed with Moore and Huber to win the 200 free relay in 1:45.13.
Shumate also added two second place finishes to her night. She completed the 400 IM in 5:07.21, as well as the 100 back in 1:05.76.
The Polar Bears will complete their regular season schedule Saturday, facing off against non-conference opponent Case Western Reserve in Cleveland at 1 pm.
