ADA - Senior Alisha Rinehart and freshman Kara Dysert have both earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference accolades in women's basketball, as selected by the 10 conference head coaches for the 2008-09 season.
Rinehart was named Second Team All-OAC, while Dysert was both Honorable Mention All-OAC and OAC Freshman of the Year.
The two players were Ohio Northern's top-two scorers on the season, with Rinehart averaging 17.9 ppg and Dysert averaging 11.4 ppg.
Rinehart also led the Polar Bears with 59 assists, 36 3-point field goals and an astonishing 87.3 percent (165-of-189) from the free-throw line.
Dysert was the team leader in rebounds, averaging 7.4 boards per contest.
This marks the second time that Rinehart has earned All-OAC honors, as she was Honorable Mention All-OAC as a sophomore during the 2006-07 season.
Although this is the only year Rinehart has started for the Polar Bears, she ended her career with the most points in school history at 1,228.
She also is the school's all-time leader in made free throws with 423, which is 111 more free throws than second place Holly Maples' 312 from 1995-98.
Rinehart was named OAC Player of the Week on February 2, and both Rinehart and Dysert were named to the Trine (Ind.) Tip-Off Tournament All-Tournament Team at the beginning of the season.
One of the two players led Ohio Northern in scoring during 23 of the team's 26 games this season.
