"The flexibility of the Ohio Northern University independent study program in art allowed me to explore a museum career as an intern, leading directly to the job with the Museum of Contemporary Art that I still enjoy today."

"Faculty dedication to student success, challenging curriculum and professional development outside the classroom enabled me to further my artistic career after Ohio Northern. To this day, the art faculty at ONU remain my mentors as I continue my MFA studies. Their passion for knowledge and educational advancement has inspired me to do the same. Many alumni regard college as the best years of their life. However, because of the faculty and my profound experiences at ONU, I believe the best years of my life are still to come."

"Ohio Northern has given me the tools I need to thrive in today’s highly competitive job market. The personal attention, challenging academic atmosphere and dedicated professors are, in my mind, hallmarks of the ONU experience. I would not be where I am today without the education I received at Ohio Northern."

"The art and design department at Ohio Northern University had the facilities and equipment that allowed me to explore new techniques, achieve successes, learn from failures and catch a glimpse of what is possible. The faculty at Northern provided much more than just a technical education on how to create artwork; they were a springboard for self-discovery and direction, both as an artist and as a person. My business, Long Pond Pottery, is in its first official year and I owe a big "Thank You" to the Northern faculty, both current and retired, who have continued to support and encourage me during these last few years of getting started."

"A heart, a generous caring, loving heart … that is what I think of when I think of Ohio Northern University. Back in the late ’60s when I was a student, I realized that the art department cared about each and every student ... they still do. They always went the extra mile to help us succeed. When I was invited back to visit in 2000, I quickly realized that ONU’s heart is still alive and well and ticking away … not only in the art department but in all the other aspects of the University. I have very fond memories that have continued to inspire me, and continue to make the art department at ONU special for me."

"My experience at Ohio Northern’s department of art was one to which I give special credit and thanks. It opened my eyes and removed the blinders from my one-track mind by introducing me to art and design methods that I had never been exposed to. Over the years, I became very engaged and encouraged to learn and achieve more. I didn’t want to leave."

"I decided to study art and design at Ohio Northern for several reasons. First, I have a passion for educating and teaching children. Along with this passion, I found, after several visits to ONU, that the faculty in the art department possess that same passion. The sense of community impressed my decision to study here."
