The faculty at Northern provided much more than just a technical education on how to create artwork; they were a springboard for self-discovery and direction, both as an artist and as a person. My business, Long Pond Pottery, is in its first official year and I owe a big "Thank You" to the Northern faculty, both current and retired, who have continued to support and encourage me during these last few years of getting started."

Back in the late ’60s when I was a student, I realized that the art department cared about each and every student ... they still do. They always went the extra mile to help us succeed. When I was invited back to visit in 2000, I quickly realized that ONU’s heart is still alive and well and ticking away … not only in the art department but in all the other aspects of the University. I have very fond memories that have continued to inspire me, and continue to make the art department at ONU special for me."
