ONU holds Academic Honor Scholarship recognition day

Ohio Northern University will be conducting its Academic Honor Scholarship recognition day Saturday, Jan. 27th.

This is the third of four on-campus scholarship evaluations days that attract high ability applicants. These events involve many on campus as well accepted students who have achieved excellence in their respective high schools.

About 240 high school students from Ohio and nine surrounding states are expected to attend the event. The students go through written evaluations and are interviewed by teams of faculty, staff, current students and alumni.

Ohio Northern to Initiate Keiser Distinguished Lectureship

Beginning in 2007, Ohio Northern University students will hear from renowned lecturers in the life sciences, thanks to the Keiser Distinguished Lectureship in Life Sciences Fund.

The new fund will bring nationally prominent life sciences scholars to ONU's campus each year to lecture and interact with students.

Prominent Entrepreneurs, Business Leaders to Discuss 'Business Success and Lessons Learned Along the Way'

A panel of Ohio Northern University alumni who are prominent entrepreneurs and business leaders will discuss “Business Success and Lessons Learned Along the Way” as part of the ONU College of Business Distinguished Lecture Series in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The event is free and open to the public.

O.A.R. to Perform at Ohio Northern

Ohio Northern University will present O.A.R. (….of a Revolution) at the ONU Sports Center on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

O.A.R. has been together for almost 10 years, releasing their first album, “The Wanderer,” in 1997. Some of their most popular songs from their past albums include, “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker,” “City on Down,” and “Hey Girl.”

Ceramic Exhibit Featured at Ohio Northern University

A ceramic exhibit by artist Jack E. Corle, a 1978 Ohio Northern University alumnus, is currently on display at Ohio Northern University’s Elzay Gallery of Art through Oct. 6.

Corle received his master of fine arts degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, he went onto become an associate professor and co-director of the University of Findlay art department, where he remains today.

ONU Receives Record $10 Million Gift

Ohio Northern University alumnus Clayton L. Mathile and his wife Mary Ann Mathile have pledged $5 million plus an additional $5 million in matching funds for the construction of science education and research facilities on the ONU campus.

“This extraordinary gift, the largest in ONU history, will enable the university to both enlarge and enhance our science and math programs,” says Ohio Northern President Kendall L. Baker.

ONU ranked No. 5 in U.S. News & World Report

Ohio Northern University continues to be the highest ranked Ohio university in its category in the U.S. News & World Report annual look at higher education.

ONU is ranked No. 5 among Midwest comprehensive colleges in the 2007 edition of "America's Best Colleges." Comprehensive colleges are defined by U.S. News as institutions that focus on undergraduate education and offer a range of degree programs including liberal arts and professional fields.
