Homecoming is a time of reunions and celebrations with alumni, friends, family, faculty and students. This year, Ohio Northern University invites you to join us in the "Tropical Tundra!"
The registration area will be in the McIntosh Center Lounge from 2-6 p.m. on Friday evening and from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. A registration area also will be at Dial-Roberson Stadium on Saturday afternoon. You need to register to receive your bracelet for meals and rides.
Please pre-register to ensure that we allow enough spaces for the various programs and activities throughout the day and so that our caterer can prepare enough food for each event. Kindly return your RSVP or register online at onualumnicommunity.com by Oct. 2. We welcome you to enjoy the entire weekend of the event, but cannot guarantee proper accommodations to those who do not pre-register.

A Homecoming Celebration!
It’s a tailgate at ONU and YOU are invited. Join alumni, students and friends for a magnificent time at Dial-Roberson Stadium. Beginning at 11:30 a.m., Northern will offer numerous activities around the stadium, including music, festivities, rides and much more. Athletic Hall of Fame Induction and BanquetJoin us at the ceremony and banquet Friday evening as six new members are inducted into the Ohio Northern University’s Athletic Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees are Lori Kane, BSBA ’86, James Ricketts, BSEd ’60, Brad Rogers, BSME ‘ 90, Mary (Bouic) Schmidt, BSPh ’94, Cortney (Roof) Simpson, BA ,98, and Matthew Wolf, BSPh’ 98. All 2009 Hall of Fame inductees will be featured in the Homecoming Parade and announced at the Ohio Northern v. Heidelberg football game. All Hall of Fame inductees will also have special seating at the game.
Education Alumni GatheringJohn Dr. Tena Roepke, director of teacher education, faculty from the Center for Teacher Education, fellow alumni and current student, to watch the parade in front of the Dukes building. Visit with faculty and friends and hear updates about the programs before moving to the tailgate picnic.
The Freed Center for The Performing Arts Announces...
A Evening of Beach Music and Classic Rock featuring Papa Doo Run Run and the ONU Symphony. Grammy-nominated Papa Doo Run Run has been orcking audiences worldwide since 1965! The James F. Dicke College of Business AdministrationJoin Dean Jim Fenton, college faculty, current students and alumni for the annual alumni awards breakfast. There will be a breakfast buffet starting at 9 a.m. in the Dicke Hall Atrium, followed by the Awards banquet. It all happens in a perfect location to watch the Homecoming Parade.

The Department of Biological Sciences and The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
The department of biological sciences and the department of chemisty and biochemistry will have student poster presentations on Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. This event will be held in the first floor atrium in the Mathlie Center. Also at this time tours of the facility will be available.
College of Law CLE & MoreThe law school has a number of activities planned for the weekend. On Friday, a CLE will be offered on “Ethics, Professionalism & Substance Abuse” sponsored by Phi Alpha Delta-Willis Chapter and the College of Law from 1-4 p.m. in the Moot Court Room. The CLE is open to all attorneys and is approved for 2.5 CLE hours, including 1 hour Ethics, ½ hour Substance Abuse, and 1 hour Professionalism. Separate registration is require directly with the College of Law. Registration fee: $50 for law alumni and $65 for non-law alumni. The tailgate party will include the kickoff of The Apprentice: Hosted by an ONU law professor. ONU law students will compete in an event to avoid the eventual firing of a Professor.

Stefanie Spielman Walk/Run for Breast Cancer AwarenessThe Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research was established by Stefanie and her husband, former All-Pro NFL linebacker and Ohio State standout, Chris Spielman. The fund has raised nearly $2 million to be dedicated to breast cancer research at the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Delta Sigma PhiDelta Sigma Phi has several events planned for their alumni. There will be a golf scramble starting at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday at the Sugar Creek Golf Course. The cost for this event is $40 which includes golf, a cart, beverages, and prizes.On Saturday evening at the chapter’s sunken lounge, there will be the ACB meeting, an informal update of the previous year’s chapter and ACB activities, along with ACB member nominations. Following the meeting, the annual Homecoming dinner will take place. All alumni, family, friends and actives are welcome, $12 per person. There will be an award presentation immediately following dinner. The Loren Schoenberger Distinguished Alumnus Award will be given. Many activities will occur throughout the day, including an informal lunch, a corn hole tournament and visiting with undergraduate brothers. ONU Alumni Jazz BandOn Sunday, October 11, at 2 p.m., the ONU Jazz Band once again hits the Recital stage of Presser Hall. The afternoon will be filled with big band standards as well as favorites of the band. General admission is $15, Seniors/Non-ONU students are $12, and children are $9. Tickets go on sale Sept. 29.
ONU Men’s Chorus Concert
On Friday, October 9, at 8 p.m. the ONU Men’s Chorus will perform in Presser Hall. The ONU Men’s Chorus is one of the newest ensembles on the campus. The 70+ Men’s Chorus is not only students, but also faculty, staff, alumni and community members. The Men’s Chorus is under the direction of Professor Dennis Kratzer.

The Rudolph H. Raabe College of PharmacyOn Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., faculty, students and staff will be providing tours of the Raabe College of Pharmacy. Come see the new student lounge, pharmacy skills center and 125th anniversary display. Visit the homecoming tailgate and help us celebrate the 125th year anniversary of The Raabe College of Pharmacy “Tropical Tundra” style. Join Dean Sprague and your fellow Polar Bear pharmacy alumni, faculty, staff and students at the pharmacy area of the alumni tent and tailgate picnic. Pharmacy students will be coordinating activities for children of all ages including decorating their personalized beach ball and coloring a Klondike in the tropics page. We’ll fill your prescription for thirst with our special “Klondike Koladas” tropical fruit drink and provide you the opportunity to take the Medicinal Tropical Plant Quiz to enter and win a special 125th anniversary gift basket. Pharmacy faculty and students will provide transportation from the tent for college / campus tours and to The Inn and other campus locations.Phi Delta Chi, a professional pharmacy fraternity, is sponsoring a Pharmacy Continuing Education Program on Sunday, Oct. 11, from 10:30-2:30 p.m. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and lunch will be provided.
