Out-of-State Recognition Award
Beginning fall 2010 $2,500 per year
Ohio Northern University is pleased to offer an automatic recognition award for accepted new students who reside outside of Ohio. Ohio Northern is committed to attracting a national and international student body, so this award has been designed to recognize and financially assist students who contribute to this goal. The award will be available according to the following criteria:
- Eligible students include first-time freshmen and transfer students who are full-time and working toward a degree. Eligible students must be admitted to attend class at ONU in fall 2010. The award begins with eligible students enrolling in 2010.
- The award amount is up to $2,500 per academic year. The award is automatic and renewable until graduation (first four years for pharmacy students) provided the student progresses satisfactorily.
- The award requires out-of-state (non-Ohio) residency on the part of the accepted student. The award does not apply to international students (non-citizen) who have separate awarding considerations. The award also does not apply to law students or those already holding post- secondary degrees.
- The ONU Office of Financial Aid will verify residency prior to applying the award to billing statements.
- The award does not require the establishment of financial need. However, students are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for need-based programs, including grants, loans and student employment.
- The award will be coordinated with other ONU awards for which students qualify, including merit scholarships, talent awards, alumni awards, sibling awards, church-related awards, dimension awards and ONU grants. All aid must be coordinated and adjusted as appropriate to comply with ONU financial aid policies and maximum levels of assistance.
We encourage qualified students to complete the application process for admission as well as visit. We look forward to supporting and recognizing students from all over the United States with this special award.
