Continuous Achievement Scholarship
The Continuous Achievement Scholarship is intended to award an individual from each of the four undergraduate colleges of Ohio Northern University for their academic efforts and their extracurricular involvement. The scholarship is meant to award students who have shown great improvement in their academic performance from high school into college and have additionally demonstrated a commitment to active involvement in the ONU community.
Application Requirements:
In order to qualify for this scholarship a student must have completed one quarter of undergraduate enrollment at Ohio Northern University and have at least one quarter (including spring 2009) remaining. (This includes members of the Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes as well as P1, P2, P3, P4 classes.) In addition, the student must demonstrate an exemplary academic record of at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and a continued contribution to the Ohio Northern community. Students are not eligible if they have previously received the highest academic scholarship amount in their appropriate level, i.e. Presidential, Trustee, Academic and Distinguished scholarships.
Selection Process:
Recipients of the Continuous Achievement Scholarship will be selected by a committee made up of one staff member from each of Ohio Northern’s undergraduate colleges. A student representative will sit on the Committee at the appointment of Student Senate and an alumni representative will also serve on the committee. The Director of Financial Aid will serve as a non-voting committee member.
Award Recognition:
The Continuous Achievement Scholarship recipients from each college will receive a printed award and have their name published for the Honors Day program and will be notified by their college ahead of time. One recipient from each of the four Undergraduate Colleges will be awarded $2,500 to be evenly credited across the quarters of the tuition bill for the subsequent academic year, in addition to any other university scholarships. (If a recipient is a senior, they will receive a check at the end of the academic year to be applied to college costs.)
The scholarship is a onetime award and non-recipients are encouraged to reapply.
