Nursing
Exceptional students are being drawn to ONU’s nursing program. The four-year Bachelor of Science in nursing program boasts a direct-entry admittance approach, clinical experiences beginning in the second year with no wait-list, rigorous academic standards and small class sizes. ONU nursing students and faculty recognize that their field is both an art and a science, and the curriculum and instruction reflect this philosophy.

Sophomore, Nursing with public relations and dance minors
HS: St. Edward High School (Lakewood, Ohio)
Hometown: Fairview Park, Ohio
Aspirations: “I could go on to higher education and become some sort of health administrator, or I could incorporate methods of dance therapy into a hospital in New York City. I’m not sure exactly what I’ll be doing in the future, but I’ll be incorporating all of the experiences I’ve had at ONU and helping people somewhere… I can’t wait!”
“One great thing about ONU’s nursing program is something that is great about ONU in general: small classes mean more one-on-one interaction with your professors — that is really important, especially for a nursing school. Since nursing is ‘both an art and a science,’ it’s easy to be taught the science part but the art part needs a lot of interactive training that can only be done when you’re able to learn side-by-side with your professor.”
