CURRENT JOBS AVAILABLE

Law School Computer Lab Assistant:  The Law School is searching for 2 part-time students to help out this summer, in anticipation of that student working in the computer lab throughout their time at ONU.  Interested students need to be able to work up to 20 hours this summer and continue to work throughout the school year.   The students must have work study eligibility during the year and need to also have a genuine interest in computers and be pretty good with  computers.   If interested, contact Elizabeth Christian at 419-772-2251 or e-christian@onu.edu.

 

ONU Counseling Center: (Posted 2/20/2008) - Student needs to be dependable and be able to keep information confidential. Responsibilities include answering the phone, relaying messages, & scheduling appointments. Experience working in a professional office setting or with confidential information would be preferred. Law students are welcomed to apply. It would be for 1 hour each day, Monday-Friday, from 12:00 to 1:00. Contact Becky Good at 419-772-2190 if interested.

LAW LIBRARY:  (Posted 4/16/2008) - The Law Library is looking for students to work in the summer!!  They need students to work up to four weekend and night hours.  If interested, please contact Elizabeth Christian at X 2251.

NORTHERN ON MAIN: (Posted 1/14/2008) - If you are interested in working at Northern On Main, please stop by and see Lisa Risner at the MacIntosh Dining Services Office. MUST HAVE WORK STUDY ELIGIBILITY!!!

COMPUTER LAB ASSISTANTS: The James F. Dicke College of Business is looking for computer lab assistants for the 2007-2008 school year. Lab assistants are responsible for the general operation and security of the computer labs in Dicke Hall during scheduled hours. Also, they assist students in their use of the software and equipment in these labs.

Available shifts:

  • Monday 7-9 and 9-11
  • Tuesday: 9-11
  • Wednesday 7-9 and 9-11
  • Thursday 7-9 and 9-11
  • Sunday 4-7, 7-10

Requirements for the position are:

  • An A in PC-Apps (ABUS-201)
  • Eligibility for Work Study
  • Available to work 5 hrs per week
  • Available to work evening and weekend hours
  • A pleasant and helpful attitude.

STUDENT USHER - Freed Center 

Scope

Perform the duties of assist the Student House Manager and the Stage Manager during shows in the Freed Center.

                                                                                                                              Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for supporting the functions of maintaining orders of the Freed Center during shows. 

 Principle Responsibilities

·         Will be on a rotating schedule.

·         Must arrive one hour before each performance.

·         Respond to the Student House Manager for assigned posts and detailed changes.

·         Pass out programs to guest.

·         Take tickets.

·         Help patrons to their seats.

·         Make sure all patrons are comfortable during a show.

·         Responsible for cleaning up the auditorium after the show.

·         Make sure the programs are stuffed for the following show.

 Required Skills

·         Excellent organization and communication (optional)

  Minimum Qualifications

·         High School Diploma or GED (optional)

 Preferred Qualifications

·         Two or more years of similar office experience (optional)

  • Provide support to special projects as needed including data entry, mailings, and data analysis
  • Web page support
Minimum
qualifications:
  • Excellent quantitative and analytic skills
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (experience with Microsoft Access and statistical software applications such as SPSS preferred)
  • Effective communication skills with faculty, staff, and students while maintaining professional tact and confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and self motivated and willing to take initiative
  • Must be well-organized, prepared to meet deadlines, and able to work independently with meticulous attention to detail
  • Help in maintaining and updating the departments web pages.
