How do I get a job on campus?
The process for working on campus begins with the Office of Financial Aid. The Office of Financial Aid keeps a listing of available positions on their Web site under the "Federal Work-Study" tab. Once you are successful in securing a job, you must be authorized to work. You may be authorized by filling out the appropriate forms (refer to the forms tab).
How do I enter my time?
All timesheets are online through Luminis. Timesheets are filled out for the entire month. Once the month is over you will submit your hours to your supervisor for approval. You must submit your hours no later than 11:59 p.m. on the third of the following month for payment in that month (refer to the payroll tab).
How do I get approved to submit my time online?
You must fill out and submit a Web time entry form. The Web time entry form is available on the forms tab and must be filled out by you and your supervisor and then sent to the Office of Human Resource.
How is my time approved?
The supervisor for your position approves your timesheet via Luminis. Your supervisor has the ability to return you timesheet for correction, so be aware that your timesheet may need resubmitting.
When do I get paid?
Direct deposits are deposited on the 15th of the month following the month worked. If the 15th of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday then the direct deposit will fall on the Friday before.
How do I see my pay stub?
You may view your pay stub through your Luminis account. Once you are in Luminis, instead of choosing "timesheet" like you would to enter your hours, choose "pay stub", and it will give you a listing of hours worked and any deductions you have incurred.
How do I get paid?
All students get paid through direct deposit. Direct deposit is set up to be deposited into the financial institution you have chosen.
What forms are required?
All employment tax forms are required for work eligibility. You will need to fill out an I-9 (employment eligibility), W-4 (federal tax) and IT-4 (Ohio state tax) forms. If your permanent address is located in a reciprocity state, you will need to fill out the IT-4 NR form. All forms are located on the forms tab.
I have been asked to work. What do I do?
The first thing you must do is check with the Office of Financial Aid for work-study eligibility. Once they have authorized you to work, you will need to fill out the Web time-entry and all other tax forms; submit them to the Office of Human Resources.
How much will I be paid?
The student work study hourly rate for 2008-09 is $7.90. This rate is set yearly by the vice president for financial affairs.
