Arielle Ambrosy, a first-year pharmacy major at Ohio Northern University, is a 2008 Girl Scout Gold Award winner.

Thirteen Ohio Northern University pharmacy students and their advisors attended the National Community Pharmacists Association's (NCPA) 40th Annual Conference on National Legislation and Government Affairs May 19-21 in Washington, D.C.
AFPE Scholarships Support Student Research at ONU
Two Ohio Northern University pharmacy students are the recipients of 2008 American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (AFPE) "Gateway to Research" Scholarships, each worth $5,000.
Rachael Waterson, a third-year pharmacy student from Benzonia, Mich., will work with Dr. Boyd Rorabaugh on a project titled "Differential Coupling of α1 - Adrenergic Receptor Subtypes to Transactivation of the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor."
Ohio Supreme Court Justice Stratton to Speak at Undergraduate Commencement
Ohio Northern University will celebrate its 2008 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Sports Center.
About 600 students will be awarded degrees.
Sullivan Invited to Participate in U.S. Air Force Health Professional Tour
Dr. Donald Sullivan, associate professor of pharmacy practice at the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy, will be participating in the U.S. Air Force Health Professional Tour May 13-16.
Dr. Sullivan will embark on a four-day tour that allows health profession educators such as practitioners, chief residents and registrars from across the nation the opportunity to experience the Air Force firsthand.
President’s Leadership Dessert Honors ONU Students
Eight Ohio Northern University students, a male and female from each class, were honored with awards at the annual President's Leadership Dessert, held April 30.
Special guest speaker for the event was Ohio State University Head Football Coach Jim Tressel.
Receiving the DeBow Freed Awards for Outstanding Leadership as freshmen were Bethany Schreck, an art major from Bethel Park, Pa., and Ryan Lowry, a business administration major from Bluffton, Ohio.
Raabe College of Pharmacy Awarded Grant for Software Development
The Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University has been awarded part of a $101,677 grant from the Computational Challenges of Genome-Wide Association Studies, sponsored by Microsoft Research. The college will use these funds to develop a software and data management system that utilizes patient-specific genetic information to predict and prevent adverse drug reactions.
APhA-ASP Chapter Garners National Patient Care Award
Ohio Northern University's American Pharmacist Association Academy of Student Pharmacists chapter won the National Patient Care award in Region 4 at the national conference in San Diego.
ONU won the Region 4 award for its campaign "American Pharmacists Association Heartburn Awareness Challenge 2007." Region 4 includes all colleges of pharmacy in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.
ONU receives grant to study new aspirin dosage form
ONU will conduct on-campus clinical research to determine how fast aspirin from Fasprin® enters into the bloodstream. Unlike traditional aspirins, Fasprin® dissolves in the mouth (not in the stomach), which may allow it to work quicker than other aspirin products on the market.
ONU Raabe College of Pharmacy honors trio with distinguished alumni awards
This marks the first year that Distinguished Alumni Awards are being presented by the ONU Raabe College of Pharmacy.
Tammy Stefanovic, BSPh '88, Robert Parsons, BSPh '71, and Frank Wickham, BSPh '60, are being recognized for their outstanding career accomplishments and their contributions to ONU.
