The University Singers, conducted by Professor Dennis Kratzer, Director of Choral Activities, is a select 48-voice concert choir that has been in existence since 1971. The choir has sung with the Toledo, Lima, Perrysburg and ONU Symphony Orchestras in recent years. The ensemble has worked with such composers as Jester Hairston, John Ness Beck, Vaclav Nelhybel and Craig Courtney. On two occasions internationally known composer Gordon Getty chose them to premier new works. In the spring of 2000 they joined forces with the other Ohio Methodist university/college choirs in a performance of Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms" in Cleveland's Severance Hall under the direction of Robert Page. Under Professor Kratzer's leadership the choir has toured from New York to California.
