Brass Ensemble

Ohio Northern University is a terrific place for the collegiate brass player. Here at ONU, our majors learn the essentials of good brass performance, develop the skills of ensemble brass playing while cultivating their own sense of artistry and individuality.

Involvement in the ONU Music Department offers our students membership in the Brass Ensemble--a group that regularly performs the great works of the brass repertoire spanning the Renaissance right up to the 21st century. Majors from architecture through zoology are welcome to join not only the Brass Ensemble but are encouraged to participate in like-instrument ensembles, such as Trombone Choir or Trumpet Ensemble, various brass chamber groups, and even be a part of our regular Brass Studio Warm-Up Class which meets every morning to reinforce good fundamentals so our students are best able to meet the mental and physical demands of successful brass performance.
