Cystic Fibrosis Run for the Roses

On August 17, 2008, Angela Badertscher lost her    battle with Cystic   Fibrosis.  Angela was a 27 year old graduate of both Ada High School and Ohio Northern University.  She is survived by two   sisters, Michelle and Kim, and their parents and grandparents.  Both    surviving sisters are graduates of the Ohio Northern University Athletic Training program, and thus Angela was a part of our extended "Athletic Training Family."  Shortly after the discovery of Kim's condition, it was also discovered that her sister Angela had Cystic    Fibrosis.  Kim is a clinical outreach Athletic Trainer for the university.  Due to our close relationship with this challenging and ultimately devastating condition, the ONU Athletic Training program has organized a 5K Run/Walk and 1/2 Mile Kids Fun Run in honor of Kim's current battle, and the battle that  Angela fought courageously for so many years.

It has been entitled Run for the Roses because children with Cystic Fibrosis often call the condition "Sixty-Five Roses."  The first 65 finishers of our race will receive a pink Killarney rose, the official flower of Angela's sorority. 

Our ultimate goal is to raise enough money that we can pay for all of the "race necessities" and still have a large sum of money to donate in the name of both women to the Cystic Fibrosis organization that the Badertscher family designates.  Please join in our efforts to achieve this goal!
