Department of English
A course of study in English is a challenging and rewarding experience in the intellectual, practical, and social constructions and productions of text. In addition to learning about various topics in English studies like literature, language, and professional and creative writing, an English degree provides students with the critical-thinking skills necessary for engaged citizenship and future success. Ohio Northern University's English graduates become successful teachers, writers, editors and business professionals. English is an excellent preparation for all advanced degrees, including law, business and any graduate program involving critical thinking and writing. As an additional benefit, graduates of ONU's English programs also enjoy a lifetime of literary and artistic involvement.

- All five majors build off a shared core of writing and literature courses
