drawing classPortfolio Scholarship Day
The department
of art & design at Ohio Northern University invites all incoming students to participate in our annual Portfolio Scholarship Day at the Wilson Art Center. This is an exciting opportunity to compete for a Talent Award based solely on your submitted portfolio.

Our Portfolio Scholarship Day is scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2010, beginning at 9a.m. The day includes portfolio critique sessions, drawing sessions, and lunch on campus. Once you make your reservation, a complete itinerary will be emailed to you with specific times for scheduled activities.

Attend & Present
To reserve your place for the 2010 portfolio review, please contact the art & design department at 419.772.2160 or email art@onu.edu. Be aware that in order to qualify for a Talent Award, you must have already applied and have been accepted to Ohio Northern University as an art or design major. You may contact the admissions office for an application (1.888.408.4ONU or http://www-new.onu.edu/admissions/prospective_freshmen).

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to compete for a Talent Award scholarship and we look forward to hearing from you! If you have any questions, please feel free to call the art & design office at 419.772.2160.

Students not able to attend
If you cannot attend the Portfolio Scholarship Day in person, but would like your work included in the evaluation process for admission and for a talent award, you can submit your work in digital or slide format. (The department cannot be responsible for any original artwork sent through the mail.)

Burn a CD with your work and clearly label each file. Or, present your work in plastic slide sheets. Clearly label your slides. A self-addressed, stamped envelope with the proper amount of postage must accompany your CD/slides if you wish for them to be returned.

Make sure your work is well photographed. Nothing hurts the assessment of an applicant’s portfolio more than files or slides that the faculty members cannot clearly view.

After labeling all slides, put them in a standard-size, 8.5 x 11 inch plastic sleeve. Please include an inventory sheet with your files / slides noting the size, medium or media, and date of completion of each piece of work. Deadline for materials is February 12.

If you have additional questions, feel free to contact the department of art & design.
