Music Admissions

Presser Admission to the University is determined by the Ohio Northern University Admissions Office. All Applicants must complete the application for admission. Auditions are required of all new students (freshman or transfer) who wish to declare a major in music, auditions also serve as scholarship consideration.

Ohio Northern operates on a rolling admissions basis, which means that each applicant is considered immediately upon receipt of all necessary credentials. Applicant must be admitted to the University before he/she will be allowed to audition for the Music Department.

Application for admission to Ohio Northern may be made after the completion of the junior year and throughout the entire senior year. However, for the highest scholarship consideration, please apply before December 1st of your senior year.

Materials needed for Admission:

  • A Completed ONU Application
  • $30 application fee
  • ACT and/or SAT test scores
  • List of senior courses
  • Official high school transcript to include: GPA and class rank (this must be sent directly from the high school)

Applicants are notified promptly regarding their acceptance status (usually 4-6 weeks). A $200 deposit (refundable until May 1) is required of accepted students and signifies the student's intention to enroll in the University and secures housing.

Ohio Northern University is a member of the Tuition Exchange, Inc. group and welcomes applications from students with Tuition Exchange certification.
