Degree Programs

Students majoring in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry can pursue studies leading to the following degrees:

• ACS B.S. in Chemistry and/or see the Admissions Program Sheet for Chemistry
• ACS B.S. in Biochemistry and/or see the Admissions Program Sheet for Biochemistry
• B.S. in Medicinal Chemistry and/or see the Admissions Program Sheet for Medicinal Chemistry

Students with these degrees commonly go directly to industry or government labs or go onto to pursue advanced degrees including Ph.D. M.D., etc. Furthermore, the department offers options to earn B.A. degrees and is willing to work with students who want to earn a chemistry degree as a second degree.

We have a specific program for Teacher Licensure for students seeking to teach High School Chemistry Courses

Students can also minor (see below) in the department and/or work towards the following concentrations:

• Premed Program
• Forensic Chemistry
• Chemistry Minor
• Biochemistry Minor
