Winter Storms
In case of weather emergencies, the President of the University and/or the Vice President for Financial Affairs is authorized to cancel, delay or dismiss classes.
If the decision is made to close the university, announcements will be made on the ONU website, local and area radio and television, including WONB. Updates and additional information will be available through the same media.
Shuttle Buses During Extremely Cold Weather
At times of extremely cold, -10 degrees F, shuttle vans can be authorized by Student Affairs to serve the village and campus in the morning from 7:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. The ONU dispatcher/operator will notify certain fraternity and sorority houses that the service will be running. WONB will receive the same message.

Road/Travel Conditions
Sheriffs' Departments in Ohio have the authority to declare a "snow emergency" and to temporarily close county and township roads within their jurisdiction for the preservation of public peace. Snow emergency levels are:
Level 1: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads are also icy. Drive very cautiously.
Level 2: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.
Level 3: All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roadways may subject themselves to arrest.
