Internet or Network Failure
In case of Physical Damage to Facilities or Equipment
- Notify appropriate emergency agency to control situation:
- 911 - Hardin County
- Security Office - 2222
- Info. Tech. Dir. - George Gulbis, 3100 or 634-9753
- President - Dr. Baker, 2031 or 2780
- As appropriate:
- Evacuate facility if danger exists.
- Do not attempt to fight fire or save equipment and records
- Warn others in the building of the emergency - pull fire alarm.
- Stay with injured persons until emergency personnel arrive.
- Attempt to reach university officials as appropriate.
- Attempt to reach appropriate Information Technology staff personnel.
Information Technology staff will:
- Obtain necessary communications equipment to coordinate emergency with others - i.e. University telephone, cell phone. University 2-way radio.
- Document events of the emergency, such as dates, times, telephone contacts, events, steps taken to control and restore services.
- A decision will be made to open the Incident Command Center or establish a separate Information Technology office.
- Notify University Security, Information Technology staff, and other officials of the location and temporary telephone number.
- Begin assessment of physical damages.
- Plan for priority restoration of services.
Functional Failures
- Attempt to reach University officials as appropriate.
- Attempt to reach appropriate Information Technology staff personnel.
- Obtain necessary communications equipment to coordinate the emergency with others ie. University telephone, cell phone, University 2-way radio.
- Document events of the emergency, such as dates, times, telephone contacts, events, steps taken to control and restore services
- Begin corrective actions.
